College Basketball Conference Betting Trends and Recomendations....

The NBA show cases their talent this weekend as they enter the All Start break. With the NBA season on hiatis, it leaves some great opportunities to cash in on some College Basketball Picks. As with most sports trends and angles play an important part in ones handicapping arsenal. Although one should not just blindly follow that method without taking into considering other factors such as injuries and particular matchups. However, it does give us a good start into what games might present themselves as some good College Basketball Betting opportunities. Today I focused on the Mountain West Conference as it appears there could be some odds makers mistakes today.

Home Teams

A lot of "experts" seem to believe in the notion that home teams in College Basketball are especially effective in beating the number. Therefore, let's take a look at how that thought process has faired in the Mountain West -- Last season the Home Teams were 43-31 ATS overall but this season hasn't been as profitable as they are only 21-20 this year. Taking the home teams as a favorite hasn't produced a great amount of success going 13-10 overall, however, if you took the home favorite this year versus an opponent who is off a double digit SU win you'd be a very profitbale 10-3 ATs.

Conference Revenge

Many pundits also beleive that when teams are in the midst of conference play that revenge is a great side to take as most teams, unless they are just totally outclasses, rarely lose twice to the same team. Unfortunately, if you suscribe to that thought process than the Mountain West Conference would not be the place to test the theory as teams looking for revenge are only 5-7 ATS at hoame and 5-7 ATS on the road for a combined 10-14 this season.

Although when looking at the Conference overall it doesn't appear that there is much of an advantage to exploit. But, as I explained matchups also factor into whether or not a good Betting proposition presents itself on any given days. So, in looking at today's matchups we do have two possible considerations. Recommendations: Air Force is 2-7 ATS versus Wyoming; BYU is 1-5 ATS versus UNLV.
